Homemade Naan

Homemade Naan! Whats better then naan and that too homemade naan? One of my favorite breads is naan I think I might even like it more then parathas. Its so versatile and goes well with anything. This recipe is so simple and so easy to make that you will never want to buy frozen naan. It contains only 5 ingredients and best part is no yeast! Lets get started with the recipe.

Makes 6 naan

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • warm water if needed

Directions

  1. Start off by adding all the dry ingredients together.
  2. Make a hole in the middle and add in 1 cup of yogurt.
  3. Kneed it together and slowly it will start to form a ball. Kneed to as soft dough and keep aside. let it rest for 30 mins
  4. Dust surface and make small rounds, roll out the dough to circles.
  5. Heat your “tawa” or pan to medium heat.
  6. Start to cook the naan by add it to the pan, once you see bubbles starting to form flip and let it cook 2 to 3 mins on that side. That is it no need to press.
  7. Remove from pan add a dab of butter to each naan and serve warm.
